Tom Brady loses 3 games straight, TNF pundits bemoan ‘lost’ and ‘broken’ Buccaneers

Things are not improving anytime soon for Tom Brady following the Buccaneers’ latest 27-22 loss against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football, as the seven-time Super Bowl champion is off to the worst start of his career through eight game with Tampa Bay sitting at two games under a winning record (3-5).

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens offense came alive in the second half and dominated the game on the ground. Brady and the Bucs offense struggled for large parts of the night once again and remained static during most of their offensive possessions.

The Amazon Prime crew, consisting of former NFL players Ryan Fitzpatrick, Richard Sherman, Tony Gonzalez and Andrew Whitworth, weren’t too kind with the 45-year-old’s latest display in Tampa.

‘I didn’t want to believe it coming into this game, I tried to drink the cool aid. I thought they were going to come out and do it but this offense is broken,’ said quarterback journeyman, Fitzpatrick, postgame.

‘They’re lost. It was tough to watch today because that’s not the Bucks of old and I don’t see a fix anytime soon,’ he added.

XLVIII Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman, however, stepped in for a brief moment to point out the one positive aspect of the Bucs’ offense.

‘You know what look good? Tom Brady to Mike Evans. We need to see more of it, just force,’ the Seahawks legend said.

Fitzpatrick disagreed with Brady’s former teammate from last year, saying it’s ‘not an effective way to play the game.’

‘Yeah, but again, [the Bucs] couldn’t run the football at all. Another game doing that. Off on targets, it just seems off. You see things that you just don’t see them do,’ ex-Rams and Bengals tackle Andrew Whitworth said.

‘You know, you see Tom Brady frustrated, the helmet throw but they’re just missing things. They seem off. They seem like they don’t communicate well. It’s just not something you ever see out of Tom Brady’s offenses and I think that’s what so shocking.’

Chiefs hall of famer, Tony Gonzalez chimed in, claiming ‘all the wheels have fallen off’ both for Tampa Bay and NFL’s most accomplished quarterback.

‘It’s going to be quite a long year for Tom Brady if they can’t get this ship going in the right direction,’ he said, later adding: ‘He is dejected inside. He is questioning himself saying, “what the hell did I come back for this for? I didn’t have to do this.”‘

‘All the chaos, all the stress, all the scrutiny that he’s under right now. You know, it’s just, it’s sad. I’m a little sad. I mean, I’m a fan of Tom Brady. We’ve been watching this guy our whole life, and we’re going to have to watch this because like I said, it isn’t like the Lions. This is Tom Brady.’

The former tight end then insisted that he doesn’t want to see Brady regress the same way that Jerry Rice did when the legendary wide receiver never featured for the Denver Broncos after being traded from the Seattle Seahawks in 2005.

‘It’s not gonna affect his legacy, but I want to see him have some success,’ Gonzalez concluded.

Sherman agreed with his fellow pundit, saying ‘the treat we’ve gotten for the last 20 or 20 years or so, it’s over.’

‘You know, it’s like one of those things where you just see the star dying and it’s like, man, it’s so foundational. Tom Brady’s been so foundational to football, that it just changes everything. You know, it makes everybody sad because he’s been such a pillar in this game and to see him deteriorate and see his team not doing well is sad for everybody,’ he later added.

Brady admitted after the home loss that he and his teammates didn’t play ‘very good offensive football.’

‘I don’t think anyone feels good. We’ve lost 4-5, not where we want to be but you know we haven’t earnt it. We’ve got to go earn it and fight hard and work out how to win games.’

He later added: ‘We’ve got to go earn it. I think you can erase what happened the last eight weeks. We’ve got to dig deep, see what we’re all about, come to work, try to improve and like I said give ourselves a better chance to win.’

The defeat came amid woes off the field for Brady too amid reports that he and supermodel wife Gisele Bunchen are heading for divorce.

Bundchen has allegedly hired Florida’s top divorce lawyer after her relationship with NFL legend Brady turned ‘very nasty.’

The supermodel is said to have started gearing up for the long fight by hiring Tom Sasser – whose previous clients include Tiger Woods and Jeff Gordon.

Bundchen, 42, was spotted out and about earlier this month while running errands without her diamond wedding ring – as rumors about her marriage continued to swirl. Earlier this week, her NFL beau, 45, was also seen without a ring.

Sources told Page Six the addition of divorce lawyers has caused the stressful separation to turn ‘very nasty between Tom and Gisele.’

The high-profile couple are said to be on neutral grounds regarding their two shared kids Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, nine – opting for joint custody. Brady also has another son Jack, 15, with ex Bridget Moynahan.

Brady did not mention family or off-field matter when asked how he will spend the Bucs’ ten days off, instead he insisted he will focus on how to help the team.

‘Try to figure out what we need to do better,’ he said. ‘You know, things that have worked, things that haven’t worked. Figure out if we can play more consistently, score more points, put ourselves into better positions to win.’

Brady finished Thursday’s game completing 59.1% of his passes (26/44) for 325 yards and one touchdown, while also becoming the most sacked quarterback ever in the league at 555. Two of those came against the Ravens.
